Archived from groups: alt>movies>monster (more info?)

As a child in the 1970s, I recall seeing what was probably a 1960s,
campy, B-movie, monster film which was in color and featured
a biker gang. All I can remember is that the lead biker either
was played by Bob Crane or someone who resembled him.
He had a shtick of hypnotizing people by putting his finger
on their temple/forehead. The monster was a typical guy-in-
rubber suit thing.

I've searched IMDB for Bob Crane's films, but didn't see anything
that looked like it might be it.

So, can anyone here identify this film?

Thanks in advance.

Bill

I think you may be thinking of one the the Frankie Avalon / Annette
Funicello beach movies. In the first movie ("Beach Party"), a professor
(played by Bob Cummings) demonstrates the temple-touch technique on Eric Von
Zipper (played by Harvey Lembeck), the leader of the motor cycle gang called
"The Rat Pack". Von Zipper adopts the technique and attempts to use it in
subsequent films on others, but he usually ends up zapping himself. Sorry, I
don't remember offhand which film in the series had a monster in it, but
those films were so campy, that a cheesy monster such as you described would
fit right in.
