Hello, I'm kinda delurking (I apparently posted to this group before,
but didn't identify myself) as the regulars whom I have started
e-mailing privately are coaxing me to come out and play.
Special wave to them. I've been a fan for years and have some
Chapliniana: my serendipitous finds have been stamp panels from Romania
and Tuva, and two sheet music covers: "With You, Dear, in Bombay" and
"Sing a Song" from "The Gold Rush."

None of the four CDs of Chaplin's film soundtrack compositions I own
has the factory music sequence from "Modern Times." Is that available
anywhere?

Christina

It's on the soundtrack recording of MODERN TIMES that was issued by
United Artists Records during the early seventies, but it has never
been released on CD, as far as I know.
Welcome to the group!

The oop Modern Times soundtrack album shows up occasionally, on ebay,
at flea markets, in vinyl shops. You can recognize it by the yellow,
black and white Leo Kouper cover of Charlie in the gears. I'm not aware
of that music being available anywhere else, but my knowledge of
Chaplin's music is far from comprehensive.
