I was just thinking wouldn't it be a fun thing for the Warner Bros. to
do a commemorative new logo for this year's 80-th Anniversary of "The
Jazz Singer" and have the "Vitaphone" pennant fade in and out. I would
then love to be at the pictures when it was featured - as the younger
generation tried to make head nor tale of it...

Not a bad idea, but it ain't gonna happen. WB, in fact, has been
notorious for stripping off old logos and replacing them with
whatever's current. (Though not as much anymore.)

I wish they'd change their current animated logo. It's awful. The only
current animated/cgi's logos that look OK are Paramount and Universal.

those grids were on the labels of Vitaphone records marking how many
times a record had been played.

What I found interesting were the lables on the DVDs. They had
the Vitaphone log and a grid for marking how many times the
print had been shown.

I'm assuming those were on the original film cans to track
showings.

Nice box. Haven't had a time to go through all of it yet.
