Film and x-rays - I was thinking about bringing some super 8 film with me on a trip by plane. ALthough, I know x-rays will harm your film, i was told going through the carry on baggage x-ray once wouldn't do much harm. Anyone know any truth to this?

film restoration - I have some old super-8 where the backing has pits in it. When projected they look like dark splotches. Granted making a wet gate print would help, but is there a process that can fill in the pits and scratches so that it would look good in a dry gate....

film transfers - what are the methods to transfer old super 8 film to a digital format? mostly to miniDV. I would like to transfer some reels to miniDV without spending a ton of money. some transfers shops claim they can do it for consumers and pros. different charges....
