Did anyone become of John Hurt's other work after seeing him in Alien?

We went on to do amazing work in Midnight Express and Elephant Man before
getting stuck in B-Movie la la land.

I was so glad to see him in Contact and the first Harry Potter.

I have a soft-side for Frankenstein Unbound...

Just love the guy! Exceptional in "1984" and as Kane in my beloved "Alien".

And of course, his distinct, husky voice! It's used in many adverts!

I'm not sure whether he actually said it, but I heard something like
this attributed to Caine: [imagine the cockney accent] "Last year, I
made arf a million. Not quid... *movies*".

Kind of sums up his approach to acting in movies.
