Just watched our new DVD of this one, which I haven't seen for some years.
While it is a bit disjointed and is not the classic that City Lights is, I
still contend that A King in New York is a funny movie. Why it has the
reputation as being so awful is beyond me. There are so many really bad
comedies made nowadays, I just can't imagine putting A King in New York
among them.
Just venting.

You're just trying to make trouble, aren't you? :)

Yeah it does sound that way. But I always believed that film got an
unnecessarily bad reputation, and now that I watched it again and have
retained the same belief, I thought I'd vent a bit. Haven't done that here
in some time.
A King in New York is a funny movie, and not as bad as its reputation would
have one believe.

You know, we have to be careful with Bruce's health. If we talk about
you-know-what, he might burst a blood vessel.
And we wouldn't want that, would we?

No - he was just expressing an opinion - a point a view - sharing that he liked
and enjoyed the film (while rightly admitting that it's no masterpiece.)
However, this is something that can't conceivably be accomplished here on this
newsgroup without needless snotty wordage from "the Almighty Moran." >> Stay informed about: A King in New York |

Thank you kindly for the concern for my health, Tom. I didn't know you cared!
And BTW - who is "we" Tom? Would that be the royal "we" - as in "the Almighty
Moran" ? >> Stay informed about: A King in New York |

Gee, no kidding.
Are you *that* tone-deaf not to be able to comprehend that I was merely having
a little fun with Jim -- with whom I agree more often than not?

I'd say he's quite embarrassingly accurate.
