We are sending the 2004 catalogue to the printers so if anyone is
not on the mailing list that wants one send snail mail address
ASAP to contact RemoveThis @kino.com

We just put up APPLAUSE & LOVE ME TONIGHT on web site today (www.kino.com)
so ORDER THEM if you ever want to see us get studio
titles again ( that plus Love Me Tonight is one of the greatest films
of all time).

Very excited at APPLAUSE coming to DVD!

Too bad that Miles Kreuger doesn't provide a commentary for APPLAUSE, as he
does for LOVE ME TONIGHT, but there's no denying the fact that the latter title
has, by far, the greatest lure for sales, viewers and anyone doing a
commentary, I suppose.

No matter, just having this remarkable film on DVD will guarantee a Merry
Christmas on this end!

Jeff

So no complete pre-code print of LOVE ME TONIGHT has ever turned up?
Seems odd that the edited print from the 1949 reissue is all that
survives. Surely some collector must have a full print somewhere....

From what I was told, the film was cut in 1934 and the material
was cut FROM THE NEGATIVE. We chased two "leads" neither panned out.
Anything is possible but I had only one credible report of its
existence at a screening in the late seventies and that was later
called into question
Probably sitting in a can next to LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT

Here too. Disheartening to see that damn 40's/50's pre-title prologue on
"Public Enemy," "Little Ceasar" and even Cagney's "G-Men."
