I've been using a venue for a couple years primarily in dusty
situations and the Venue has had no problems. Over a year ago I mixed
an eight week western in and above Santa Fe, NM and there was dust
blowing regularly during the more than 70 percent outdoor shooting
schedule. While the system doesn't have vents, seeming that it doesn't
need much airflow, it is an electronic device and wrapping cellophane
around it may cause it harm. Dusty locations are usually hot, so I
wouldn't advise you to cover it with cellophane, which would boost
it's internal temperature. Like I said, I've used my venue in very
dusty (Talcum powder type dust) locations on a regular basis and it
performs perfectly.

I just blow it off with an air can throughout the shoot (I bring my
own so not to annoy the camera crew).

Have fun making sound for movies,

E. Santiago

You can wrap it with Saran wrap or other similar vinyl film. Just make
sure the wrap is tight to the large metal surfaces so the moderate
heat generated can flow through large areas of film. Sealing it in a
loose bag is not as good. The unit will get warmer wrapped in film but
should be OK out of the sun.
