Lectrosonics will be opening their own Service Center very soon in
Toronto to better serve Lectro customers in Canada, where they have
arguably become the dominate choice this past year.
Lectro has been doing an admirable job of cross-shipping products
needing service, but international shipping -- even just across the
border -- is still a hassle and additional expense for all concerned
(the Trew Audio staff in Toronto is thrilled, to say the least). Having
a local presence in Toronto will be a big plus for Canadian users of
Lectro products.
I think applause is in order to the decision makers at Lectro for once
again investing in customer service.

Hi Glen and Dave,
We will do a "formal" announcement with phone numbers, email and
addresses Feburary 1. It will take at least a month, I'm sure, to get
everything up and running, 90 days for running smoothly. This should
make life a bit easier for our Canadian users since we'll be able to
do warranty service, firmware upgrades, etc., at Lectro on that side
of the border. Customs in and out of Canada is not too bad but
glitches and delays do happen.
Best Regards,
Larry Fisher

Hi Joe,
There is indeed a dealer repair facility in Vancouver and at other
dealers also. The Toronto office will be an additional (and quicker)
resource for those servicing dealers. Dealer service facilities
obviously have to spread time and training over many product lines.
The Lectro Toronto office has two full time Lectro employees with
extensive factory training and wireless experience. They will spend
100% of their time supporting Lectro product for both dealers and
customers in Canada. Again, this office is support and service only,
with no retail equipment sales.
Best Regards,
Larry Fisher

Hi Suresh,
I asked the sales types since we are handled by a distributor in your
part of the world. Sales have been significant in India to the
national TV network (s?) and I know the dealer supports those units.
Anyway, I'll get an answer back eventually.
Best Regards,
Larry Fisher

Hi Suresh,
We haven't found any one yet in India to do repair. We are querying
the local dealer but haven't heard back yet and may not get any good
suggestions. I know he has repaired some pilot tone crystals in UCR201
systems. I understand from the sales department that the paperwork to
get units and parts in and out of India is horrendous. More if I hear
anything.
Best Regards,
Larry Fisher
