Post subject: Lectrosonics 211 receiver output question microphone or line?
Archived from groups: rec>arts>movies>production>sound (more info?)

I have finally taken the plunge and upgraded from my G2 systems to (2)
used 211 and 200c system and had a few questions regarding how to set
them up.

(1) Should I be coming out of the Receiver at Mic or Line level? I
have currently been setting them to an output of Zero and setting my
302 mixer to microphone input . If I change the setting to line do I
need to buy a line cable or can I just use a normal microphone cable
still?

(2). I am using Countryman B6 or Countryman EMW with the Transmitters
what level should I have the Transmitter output set at? I have been
setting them at the 4th notch for normal volume situations and the 2nd
for louder voices is this a good setting?

(3) If I am using the 211 with a BDS system do I need to buy the 9v
Battery eliminators?

Thank you

WI

no if you calibrate the output for maximum ( the lectrosonics first ampify
the signal then attunuate it so it doesnt hart the signal)
you will get low line level out put ( +8 dbu maximum not + 20 or similar yo
get from balanced devices usialy)
you will need to increase the trim on the sd to get normal gain
no need for any spesial cable

i work at line levels but only as i have to many in my bag with diferent
power sources , so it may prevent ground loop hum to be notible
if you work with 3 evices only you can stay with mic level , never heard to
much difference

set the level that in normal conversation the secend led would go green and
ocatianaly would go red
decrice if both are glowing red as you hit the secend limitter . you can see
the reciever audio meter become squer black when the secend limiter
activates

no they run everything from 11 -18 v or 6 v if you connect directly to the
battery tips ( dont do it :-)
