THE BEST AND WORST FILMS OF 2006
Copyright 2007 Steve Rhodes
Many critics have rightly pointed out that 2006 was the worst year in
sometime for movies. I completely agree. For those who disagree, I challenge
them to find any year in the past 10 years when the movies were worse. I
combed through over ten years of my records and was unable to find any year
when the movies on the whole were as bad as 2006. It was true, however,
that, like most years, the studio backloaded the year, leaving most of their
best for last in the hopes that they might increase their Oscar bling.
My list was delayed a bit this time due to the late opening dates in the
Silicon Valley of some major movies.
If you want to read my reviews, you can find over three thousand of them at
my web site: InternetReviews.com. I also maintain an email distribution
list to which I send out my new reviews as well as a weekly opening day
summary for theatrical releases and another for video releases. Drop me a
line at Steve.Rhodes.TakeThisOut@InternetReviews.com with the word "subscribe" in the
subject line if you'd like to be added to the list. It's free.
