Movie ID Please Help

My Niece sent me the following email today & I don't have a
clue what movie she is talking about. Any Ideas?



I have been trying to find a movie, but i dont know the
title and i thought you might be able to help. It is a
weird movie, but i dont really remember the plot only small
parts. There was something about a briefcase or suitcase
full of little shoes and i think in the end someone throws
it in a lake or pond and it opens and all the shoes float
to the top. There was a girl in her house like on a dairy
farm?
and at one point she got kitchen utensils stuck in her
hair. I think there were little elves or people helping
doing stuff at night and something about a witch that made
quilts. It might of been an Australian movie. Well thats
all i remember. Hope you know what im talking about cuz its
DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!
