"The Forty-first" aka "Sorok pervyy" (USSR 1956) - well done Mosfilm
tale about
a small Red Army detachment finding an important White officer in
transit in 1917.
Reds have a female sniper with 40 kills - she never misses - and the
White officer
is entrusted to her. Guess what happens. Interesting situation and
locales.

Good grief. These "LMW" posts are impossible for me to keep up with.
Today I've watched "Altered States," "From Dusk Till Dawn," "Cry
Havoc," and others. FDTD my favorite of these.

You have to open up your scope of operations. Some great stuff out
there from
Russia, Japan, China, Hungary, Finland, etc. Watch faster.

"Viva Las Wegas" - Not bad actually - some sprightly numbers and Ann-
Margret gives Elvis stiff (appropriate word!) competition in the hip
swivelling contest.

Lat Movie Watched - "The Wrong Box" (British 1966) Nutty comedy about a tontine. A very young Michael Caine holds his own against Wilfred Lawson, John Mills and Ralph Richardson. A treat. Marv

The first movie(s) you watched this year? - 2046--like In the Mood for Love, it's as meticulous, obsessive and as boring at times as a Bryan Ferry solo record but perfect viewing for the early hours of the new year. Caught Infernal Affairs 2 earlier in the day and Carina Lau's a terrific actress...

Just watched JU-ON 2 - I Just watched JU-ON 2. It was far better than the first. The story was better tied together and the atmosphere was more creepy. I didn't understand the ending though. Was Kayako reincarnated and for what purpose? Any recomendations for other asia..

Just Watched AvP... - I actually liked it better the second time around ... Certainly not a great film, but Anderson is a true fan ... Any word of a sequal (they sure set it up ) or a second go round for Freddy vs Jason ... oddly ... that one, I liked better in the theater .....

Just watched F4 -
