| A well-done movie. Not a thriller, not a regular serial killer movie,
the dialog and pacing made it near-perfect. Costner's best part in
some time. If the killings had been more flambouyant, Costner could
have gotten a sequel out of it.

I agree. I think it's the first movie I've ever seen where they
didn't try to glorify the criminal, but he still was... likable.
Surprisingly suspenseful without the usual gore.

And the daughter was one of the creepiest villians in a long while.
The look on her face during the dream sequence was chilling. Great
performance by the Danielle(?) Panabaker. >> Stay informed about: Mr. Brooks was very entertaining |

Except for the "Carrie" moment at the end. I liked Mr. Brooks too
(it's a nice, nasty piece of pulp fiction) though it took awhile to
get used to William Hurt butit always takes awhile to get used to
William Hurt. Mr. Brooks isn't glorified but you still end up
rooting for him. In the Hannibal movies that kind of thing, the
sympathetic serial killer, looks immoral and tasteless but here, it's
all in good fun. >> Stay informed about: Mr. Brooks was very entertaining |

I saw this toady and liked it very much, I could even tolerate Dane
Cook! I don't know what your problem is with Hurt but in my eyes he
can do no wrong.
Kudos to Costner for getting this film and his last one filmed in
Louisiana to help the folks down there get some cash into the
economy.
P.S. Was it me or did this film have the loudest gun shots in film
history? >> Stay informed about: Mr. Brooks was very entertaining |

I'd agree on Hurt. Cook was acceptable because they made him into
such a worthless human and he got paid in spades! >> Stay informed about: Mr. Brooks was very entertaining |

New DVD releases - Faster I found this film to be really entertaining. It is what it is - a meat and potatoes action film. That said, there are also some effective twists in the plot that make it better than most from this genre of action film. I very much enjoyed Dwayne....
Borat's swimsuit - Did Borat's swimsuit exist before or was it invented for his film?
Bad Feeling about Silver Surfer - From the trailers, he looks bizarre and inhuman, and might inspire revulsion in people. He may not inspire the intrigue and awe, that his psychedelic imagery did in the 60's.
Pan's Labyrinth - I thought it was a thought-provoking film, however the obvious leftist bent irritated me. |
