Hi all,

I just bought three IDX NP-7LS Li-Ion NP-1 batteries and I can't
charge them on my non-IDX chargers.
Please help if you had any similar experience.

When new they came at 14.3 - 14.4 volts.
I used them down to 12.5V approx in order to fully charge them for
first time but I can't.
Battery documentation states that the discharge protection is at 9.5V
so I don't think that's the problem.
I just used them on my recorder as any of my other non-IDX batteries
down to the same point.

My other batteries and chargers are all Proctor and Bray brand, from
UK and never had a problem.

It could be that IDX batteries need a different charging sequence only
found on IDX chargers?

Any help appreciated. Thank you,

Fernando

i was told that the IDX NP-7LS Li-Ion batteries will only charge on
IDX chargers. now, it may be possible that other li-ion chargers will
work...not too sure about that.

mmm... I see. Someone said maybe the IDX and other chargers use 3
contacts and the P&B uses only two...
thank you Greg

Anyone else know something about?

Hi Fernando,

Looking at my older JL2Plus, each charging cup has 5 pins that contact
with the battery.

Looking at the battery, it appears there are two positive terminals, one
negative at two marked "t" and "s". My guess would be that these
monitor the cell while it is charging for safety.

HTH,
