If you go onto eBay, you'll see someone putting up for bid two
different DVDs from Singapore of Chaplin's "First National Collection."
One can only assume that it's a pirate of the old Image DVD, which is
now out of print and fetches up to $100 on eBay.
Anyone know anybody in Singapore? :)

Wow, the real deal is going for $129.99 used at Amazon, and for $199.99 new.
Boy, am I ever glad I jumped on all the Image Chaplins when I did...because
I'd sure be crying now at only being able to afford the
botched/cut/sped-up/stretch-printed Warner/MK2 releases... >> Stay informed about: First National Collection available... in Singapore |

Thank David Shepard for tipping off the group when the Images were about to
go out of print. I bought them immediately after his post and was thankful
I did after MK2 botched much of the project.

Yes, I do thank Mr. Shepard, patron saint of silent film preservation, and
have thanked him before here as well for the excellent Chaplin tip. :) >> Stay informed about: First National Collection available... in Singapore |
