I only caught the very last seconds of a new feature ABC's Nightline
was doing on Chaplin and the Keystone Cops. Anyone see the whole thing
and can you fill me in on the whole story?

Thank you.

Just reporting on a project to try to come up with a more complete set
of the very early Chaplins based on collating material from a wide
variety of sources. The restoration "enhancement" was nothing special,
the big deal was restoring a lot of "missing" footage and in some cases
correcting the order of shots.

Most of this material was before the full realization of the Tramp
character and, while it's interesting, it's not really great stuff.

Any early Ford Sterling is worth restoring. There's one with Ford,
Fatty, and Charlie that's down right surreal.

There's a dance hall scene that rivals San Francisco in '66 - '67.
