Apologies if this is a frequently asked question, but I'm
getting stumped trying to buy a VHS tape of the original
GOJIRA (GODZILLA) 1954, in Japanese with English subtitles
(not the Raymond Burr American version). Can anyone point
me to a source?

Please reply in the newsgroup--my e-mail box is flooded with spam.

--thanks in advance,

You've got to know somebody. There is no authorized tape as you describe, so
you need to seek a "fan-to-fan" collector/trader.
If you look around for the usual unofficial, not-very-authorized sources, you
can find it. The truth is out there.
After you have the dialogue memorized, you can get an all-region player and the
JapaneseToho Region 2 DVD (no English subtitles) and enjoy this wonderful,
wonderful movie.

This has been shown a few times on British TV in recent years. Nice
print, English subs.

I've got Return of. Think it's a dub but I haven't dug it out in a while...

Thanks for this info. I think I'll hold off on trying to score a
personal copy for the time being, and I'll rent it from Incredibly
Strange Video.
