I might have known. From the F--- head who did the execrable "Flags
of our Fathers" where he mercilessly belittled the famous raising of
the American flag at Iwo Jima where 6800 U.S. soldiers lost their
lives (Note to the cell phone gen: That was in WW2) now comes "In the
Valley of Elah" another anti-American screed. I just read an
interview where he said that Iraq isn't like WW2 because there is no
"moral imperative" to be at war there. JUST as in WW2 the moral
imperative is NOT the dominant feature, but is is definitely PART of
the reason for being there.
Hollywood people like Haggis make me sick. They are completely
entitled to their opinions, but they come out with these broad-stroke
pronouncements, sound bites for SCUM organizations like "MoveOn" and
they expect to be taken seriously? I just wish that ONCE some
LEFTWING film-maker could try to understand the dynamics and ALL the
reasons for a war, rather than just hand-wringing about it. >> Stay informed about: Paul Haggis is a F----- TRAITOR |

Even if you believe the motives were moral, Iraq proves that war can
easily turn good intentions into a disaster for all sides. >> Stay informed about: Paul Haggis is a F----- TRAITOR |

People of noble intent are so hard to take, aren't they, Rich?

Rich is still using the one at the library--the children's department,
where he can bully the 8 year olds off the computer. If only the
chairs weren't so low to the floor. >> Stay informed about: Paul Haggis is a F----- TRAITOR |

I didn't take the film as an anti-American screed--instead it was a
story about
soldiers crossing a moral line into unchecked barbarism towards the
enemy and each other.
