I realize that batteries have been discussed here before but I'm not
seeing anything in past posts that is helping.

My outfit is of the over the shoulder, low budget variety. I don't
have a sound cart or big mixer or monitor. At present, all I need to
power is my FR-2 and something portable would be great as I'm also a
sound effect recordist. What are my options?

Many thanks,

Arnold

Arnold,

check into the batteries that eco charge makes. i run an fr-2 off of
one and it's great. i sometimes don't have to recharge it until
finishing two days of shooting.

i carry it around my waist on a thicker belt or take it off or sit it
down next to my kit if i'm stationary for a while.

they make models that have more than one power output too, so if you
get the right one, you can also power a mixer or a wireless receiver.
