The first thing you'll notice when revisiting this film after a couple
of decades is how incredibly dated it is. Visually it is like a strong
"made for TV" movie feel to it. Additionally it portrays African-
Americans as voodoo practicing, spellbound savages; some may even
place it within the blaxploitation film genre. Annoying as the
stereotypical portrayal of blacks is, the stereotypical portrayal of
the southern hick county sheriff is perhaps even more abrasive.
When it comes right down to it, watching the film is a bit like
listening to someone scrape two pieces of Styrofoam together, and I
mean that it a nice way. As far as the Roger Moore Bond films go,
"The Spy Who Loved Me" is far more entertaining.
