1945 _Chasing Amy_

Mickey Rooney as Holden
Judy Garland as Alyssa
Leo Gorcey as Banky

1955 _Escape from New York_

Frank Sinatra as Snake Plissken
Dan Duryea as Commissioner Hauk
Ronald Reagan as the President of the U.S.
James Mason as Brain
Gloria Grahame as Maggie
Lee van Cleef as the Duke of New York
Sterling Holloway as the last New York cabbie
The Bowery Boys in there somewhere as somebody.

1931 _Fahrenheit 9/11_

H. L. Mencken instead of Michael Moore. We follow him around for two hours
as he lambastes Christianity, the "Booboisie", various public officials, etc.
and climaxing in the legislature of Arkansas's motion to pray for his soul.
This would be priceless beyond words.

Now there's a concept. I love Judy Garland's voice (speaking and singing),
and I would be delighted to see her say, "Somebody has to save our skins!"
as she fires off her blaster. Rathbone looks Tarkin quite well, but if we're
going to have him in here I insist that the script is rewritten so that he may
pick up a light saber for a protracted period as well.

Hmmmm. I saw _Captains Courageous_, but Tracy IMHO seems too civilized to be
Quint. How about Mike Mazurki?

I buy Gable as Jones the brash adventurer, but not as Jones the professor
who deals so shyly with those co-eds. Harrison Ford did very well with both
sides of that character, IMHO. (Yes, Mr. Tiernan. Please.) OTOH Lorre is
perfect for Toht, and I bet the character was inspired by him in the first
place.

Brilliant! Not a thing should be changed here!

My turn, I guess...

1943 _Bubblegum Crisis_ (A serial, you see. With real bubblegum.)

The Andrews Sisters as The Knights Saber (must have musical numbers, natch)
Karloff, Lugosi, Lionel Atwill, et al. as various bad guys

1948 _Beetlejuice_

Danny Kaye as Betelgeuse
Charles Coburn as Adam
Marjorie Main as Barbara
Margaret O'Brien as Lydia
Creative Consultant: Dr. Seuss

1935 _Necronomicon_

Dwight Frye as H. P. Lovecraft (the real Lovecraft would be offered a cameo
but would turn it down cold)
David Manners as Edward De LaPoer
Boris Karloff as Dr. Madden
Virginia Bruce as Sarah (let's make her a reporter)
Robert Mitchum as Paul
Henry Travers as Mr. Benedict

"One night, nobody was paying any attention to me, so I thought I'd commit
suicide. So I went in the bathroom, broke a glass, and slashed my chest with
it. It's a really good way to get attention. I'm going to do it again,
particularly as it doesn't work." -- Sid Vicious
