There is some point i finaly liked too in AR, but never in the way i liked the
3 one.
I liked the way of filming, i liked photography / design, i liked too the
ambiguity and
how S. Weaver played it. But i disliked some point of the humoristic situation
even
if i like very much dark comic... but i don't want to see an Alien movie to
laugh ... or only
very few, not that much : I hate the cocoon scene with that "Little butterfly
sequence", i hate
That horrible newborn... I take it as it is but we easily loose i guess some
part of the sympathie
with the differents characters, i don't feel emotion for Winona Rider
confusion of not beeing human
as it makes no differnce to me when dominique Pinon role get disturb by Ron
Perlman... ... ...
I feel sometime the story is just narrated by actors and not be a part of the
film reality (huh... u see?)
whereas as the 3 first seem more realistic (even Alien 3 wich looks more like
a theatrical scene than
a movie and with its special effects defaults is more realistic)
And I think we have loosed too the bioMECHANIC part of the eggs and the Alien
too in A4, they are
now more organic, mellow, than mechanical... I can't deal the alien tongue be
so animal, for me it
should be straight hard... these are all details that make me out the story.
It's only an amusment.

You're right, now the Ripley character must have a real position, that's why
her role will have
to be VERY important in the 5th OR NO RIPLEY at all, not just like a fighting
again character (what she did
in the 3 first)... i dunno may be like a spy (i know she's not 007 :-)), more
pacive with psychological impact or
with manipulation abilities with the real idear to make it ends, cause she
knows it's the end for her, so she must know
what bring her life on that way. No need to point so much the company
intentions this time, we have hear many
time their real intentions...

I didn't mean that S. Weaver would be in Alien 0, there is no place for Ripley
in there.
But, this movie could only explain how the company knew everything about the
danger
of the Alien species, how they already deal with it, the first contact (sure
there is more to say that
what AVP must poorly explain - not seen yet, in october in France), and how
they send logicaly
the Nostromo to take it back. They could give too some first explanations
about who are the space jockey,
and may be the big revelation would be in Alien 5. Of course Sigourney would
play only in Alien 5.
Yes there is many way to developp the story and the characters but must we
prefer nothing than poor thing?
I hardly choose, Sigourney Weaver must be in reflection.
