On Oct 31 Alien is being re-released. It is rumored to include new "super
secret" footage.

Anyone care to speculate as to what this footage may be? I think they may
film the scene where they try to flush the alien out of the Nostromo's
airlock. There are some outtakes on the Alien DVD that were filmed for
this scene, minus the alien. I assume they are going to CG in the alien
scenes at the airlock.

Thoughts??

Frank

They weren't going to Cg the alien...

CG, as it is known and loved/loathed today, was not around in the late 70's
!! ;' )))

I know Alien predates CG. From what I understand, there are newly filmed
scenes being added in. Not stuff, from the cutting room floor. So, since
the actors involved have aged and may not care to shoot a few scenes for
this re-release. My guess is that there are going to flesh out old
partially filled sequences with new effects/CG/whatever.

Anyone have any idea what they could be adding to this re-release?

I figure they'll just put into the body of the movie the scenes that were
removed in editing.

(A la.. The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen.)

My guess is it's just going to be the Dallas cocooned scene. Why
they're being so secretive is anyone's guess. Maybe they're thinking
that only the diehard fans know about it and/or have seen it on the
DVD release. There are more casual fans who may have no idea about
it, though.

I'm looking forward to seeing the previews in theatres. If they have
half a brain, they'll follow the template for the rerelease of the
Exorcist. Percy Rodriguez is still around, isn't he? Bring him back
for some cool, ominous voice over work.

Surely they can't/wouldn't include the mutation scene?!
It alters too much all that has come after, from 'Aliens' to every Dark
Horse comic-book series that included a Queen.

(But...if 'Alien 5' somehow shows that the Alien has two reproductive
methods, ie The Queen lays eggs if one happens to explode from someone's
chest, and another if a single Alien finds itself marooned, then they can
include the mutation scene.)

*It* can't help what came *after* it was filmed.

Another scene that I could see being included is when the flight-crew listen
to the message and Lambert pin points the exact location of the
planetoid/moon LV-426.

I just want to see the scene where the alien is unfolding from the shape of a
box
