There is a difference between contracting and being an employee.
Employees get minimum wage, worker's compensation insurance, and other
mandated benefits, like meal breaks. Contractors usually get nothing.
Though most companies will claim they get the choice or hiring or
contracting you, it's really up to the IRS. When in doubt, file an
SS-8 form. The IRS will be happy to make the true determination.
