Well, I saw that new scifi movie by the script writer of Alien
Resurrection, called Serenity and I was almost dying to get out of the
cinema auditorium because of the extreme experience of boredom that I
was experiencing that was somewhat painful, to say the least.
I knew that I would not enjoy it because i find myself utterly bored by
the idea of anything created by Joss Whedon, and I could see how bored
I would be just from looking at the book of the making of the movie. I
understand that many people were giving this Serenity movie full marks
and saying many good things about it, such as that it was a landmark in
cinema, but to me it felt like watching an stretched out one of those
scifi TV programs that I was doing what I could to avoid because their
actors did not interest me, their faces bored me, the ship designs
bored me, nearly everything bored me. Joss Whedon's face bores me in a
very intense way.
It might be like one of those aversions that people have to directors
like Oliver Stone and they have to rant about it incessently, but
Whedon's creativity makes me feel as if I have eaten ten bags of candy
floss at once at got my teeth stuck in a toffee apple.
I am not trying to imagine what it would have been like if Joss had
managed to direct an Alien movie, or what it would have been like if
Jeunet had been faithful to Whedon's script in a way that Whedon would
have enjoyed
I hope that all Whedon fans enjoy Serenity

| actually that comparison to having eaten ten bags of candy floss at
once and getting my teeth stuck in a toffee apple,
could be changed to eating a round pink liquorice allsort and find that
it turns into a roll of pink toilet paper while in the mouth and it
gets stuck there

Joss Whedon was a very poor choice for an Alien
film. But he's still brilliant, in my opinion.

I'm quite sure I will. I loved Firefly and wasn't surprised
at all when it was cancelled. Whedon is for very specific
tastes. I love his work (in general) but I can see how
some people don't.
Have a great day!

Now this is weird....
I thought *Firefly* (the series that serentiy rose from) was really pretty
good.
Story-wise, effects wise.
It was intelligent and also humorous.
By all reviews, the film is the same...
Hmmm....

Howabout, used pink toilet paper. Would that suit your analogy better? :D >> Stay informed about: I just saw Serenity |

I liked the series so I quite enjoyed the movie. Having 13 hours of
character development helps. It was no Aliens though.

Not me. I watched the series before the film, and well considering I hated
everything else he'd ever done, was pleasently surprised.
