Archived from groups: uk>media>home-cinema (more info?)

Hi there,
Just taken delivery of a Sony DAV-SC5 combined DVD/Home cinema system.
I also have a Sky+ digital satelite receiver.
My question regards the connectivity. I've purchased a digital optical
cable to connect the Sky box to the home cinema system. Does this
optical lead carry picture as well as sound signal? I'm wondering
whether I still have to have a scart lead connecting the Sky box to
the TV or whether everything can go through the Sony system via the
digital opticle cable.
Thanks in advance for any help and apologies if this is a daft
question.
Cheers.
