Natch, if SNAKES ON A PLANE is a commercial success TPTB will want to go
ahead with a trilogy. Seeing how it was the internet that was vital to
SOAP's (that acronym seems ... wrong ... yet so right) development, clearly
we should assist in future development, starting with titles for the next to
segments of the trilogy.
SNAKES ON A PLANE
SNAKES ON A SUB
Agent Flynn tracks a serial killer's identity to being either a scientist
consultant to one of the Navy's nuclear submarines or a Naval captain on
said submarine and goes undercover to ferret out ... the TRUF! Oh and the
killer lets loose a bunch of snakes being studied on the sub, while
sabotaging it, releasing radiation, and mutating the snakes, making them
harder to kill.
SNAKES ON A ROCKET
Years later an older Commander Flynn is assigned to the Lunar Base while
returning from a mission on Earth to the Moon finds out the offspring of an
old foe has planted snakes on his rocketship--CYBORG SNAKES.

The TV movie also showed how to deal with the snakes - they're cold blooded,
so you just lower the temperature on the sub or plane and the snakes go to
sleep. >> Stay informed about: Snakes on a Trilogy |

"Reptile snoring?" :) As well, such an ending violates the iron-clad
Joel Silver "Gotta Blow Up Everything Except the Audience and the
Theater at Flick's End" rule, no?

Ah, but SNAKES ON A SUB would be MUTANT snakes, from the radiation leak,
making them tougher and heal quicker.

Oh please, you can just jump off a train. That's why I chose sub and rocket
to prevent an easy out. C'mon, summer audiences wouldn't fall for that. That
would insult their intelligence.

Include a takeoff of that scene in CRIMSON TIDE where they test
the effects of a chemical by exposing mice to the fumes. A SNAKE
comes out of nowhere and EATS the mice!

This hype is getting out of hand-there's an article on CNN.com asking
'whether SoaP can live up to the hype', talking about all the
'incredible buzz' it's getting.
Um-buzz *where*?? Nobody I know plans to see it or is talking about it.
The only 'buzz' I've heard is from articles planted in places that are
run by the film's studio, like Entertainment Weekly and, surprise, CNN,
who are already treating this film as if it's a huge popular smash hit.
If there is any genuine excitement surrounding this movie, I guess I'm
missing it... >> Stay informed about: Snakes on a Trilogy |

I saw a report about a low budget ripoff company that hurries out
movies with similar titles to current titles. They already have out

Me personally, I'm waiting for these ripoffs:

| Related Topics: | An Unfinished Trilogy - Wasn't there supposed to be a third installment in the Gettysburg/Gods And Generals series?
Snakes on a Plane and EW - Boy, Entertainment Weekly is sure hyping the Snakes on a Plane movie! I'm guessing they have a financial stake in it, but does anyone else think all this hype might backfire? They seem to be assuming it'll be a huge, goofy hit, but I'm starting to..
SNAKES ON A PLANE: Interesting commercial - Just saw an interesting tv spot for the film; it showed a montage of all the newspaper clippings, magazine articles (including Sam Jackson's EW cover), website mentions, etc....calling it "the most anticipated film of the year...come see what all... |
