Has anyone else noticed a thin blue horizontal line crawling slowly
from bottom to top on the TCM broadcast? It's not obnoxious, just
occasionally distracting. I'm seeing it on two different sets, to it's
not my television. Just curious...

When did it start? I haven't seen it, but maybe it is too recent for me--I
didn't watch TCM yesterday, I think (and not yet today, either)..

On the other hand, just because it is not your TV doesn't mean it is not
your signal provider, or from some local source of interference.

Ocassionally, my TCM picture quality has interferance (but not a thin
blue line).
As was already posted, it's probably a local issue with my cable
company.

Not seen anything like that - HOWEVER - in the last month or so
I've noticed audio problems on TCM - but many people many not have
noticed them.

It seems almost like they have DC on their audio circuits.

Every time the video source changes there is a low-level pop/click.

For example on the films in the evening when you go from Osborne
to the ratings clip [10 seconds long] there is a pop, then when it
goes from that to the TCM [when it's a TCM owned film] there is
another pop, and then when the film starts there is yet another
pop.

It happens every time the video source has changed.

Anyone else notice this?

This isn't happening on the Dish Network satellite feed of TCM, at least
not noticeably as I receive it and record it on my computer. I pay
special attention to these short clips, as I remove them in iMovie
before sending a program to iDVD on the Mac. I prefer to have Robert
Osborne's intro fade to as much black as possible before the studio logo
comes up at the start of the film. So I play the intro until the guitar
riffs begin under the ratings info, then back off frame by frame --
leading me to believe that I would have heard the clicks you mention.

Perhaps your cable company has some crosstalk between its video and
audio circuits?

I don't think that's it. It's a very low-level click/pop and it's
only happens when the video switches. Double check.

Since the video/audio come 'as a set' the local cable company
wouldn't have a thing to do with it.

Perhaps I'm more sensitive to it. I once figured I spent about
30,000 hours at audio consoles in what was then a state-of-the-art
facility that we built for $850,000 in 1977 money. That would be
about $5million today I guess.
