Whatever became of the bad hat sent up behind the cabin where Hombre was
holed up with his crew to guard against escape in that direction before
the shooting started?

Godfather 2 *still* is sorta confusing.

Particularly who killed Michaels assasins? Fredo doesn't seem likely.

And all the Byzantine dealings with Roth, Pentaglini and Michael.
Michael didn't try and have Pentaglini killed ("Michael Corleone says
hello!") so it must have been Roth in order to turn Pentaglini against
Michael. But that doesn't make sense since Pentaglini would have been
killed if the policeman hadn't of shown up.

Oy vey.

Of course, over the history of this newsgroup, this may be the most
posted question.

Who killed the chauffeur in The Big Sleep?

Does Annakin Skywalker become the Emperor's butt boy because his
girlfriend keeps referring to him as "annie"?

In the original King Kong why did the natives, after building a huge
wall around their village to keep Kong out, then build a door big
enough to let him in?

Is Robert DeNiro's character in _Brazil_ actually the Tuttle who is wanted
by the authorities, or is he just a figment of Jonathan Pryce's imagination?

Speaking of Terry Gilliam, just what exactly was supposed to have been
going on at the end of _The Adventures of Baron Munchausen_?

If Campbell Scott's character in _The Spanish Prisoner_ was as smart as they
said, why did it take him the whole length of the movie to figure out that
he had Steve Martin's fingerprints with him all along? Why during the
supposed "sting" operation, did he bring along the real notebook? Why did
no one point out to him that the scam in the film was not in fact "The
Spanish Prisoner"? When he found his friend's dead body, why did he
run away at all (if he were innocent, he wouldn't need to run), and having
decided to run, why did he leave evidence of his presence at the scene of
the crime?

How does the pie plate in _Plan Nine from Outer Space_ turn into a square
building when the flying saucer lands?

Who are the aliens who built those monoliths in "2001" and "2010"?

What's inside that briefcase in "Pulp Fiction"? (The producers answered
that in media interviews, but that's not truly "canon" till it appears
in a film.)

What is the nature of the evil conspiracy that was only hinted at by the
murders of the piano player and orgy girl in "Eyes Wide Shut"?

Why didn't Uncle Henry appear in Dorothy's big dream, when every other
man in her life did?

____
Really, that is not a service to anybody. It's an interference with communication.

A couple of Venutians names Hank and Marion. It's explained in the Cliff

Poor Uncle Henry. He did fare better in some of the book sequels and
eventually moved permanently to Oz where he was appointed Keeper of the
Royal Jewels. He was on the verge of losing the farm which he had to
mortgage in order to rebuild the lost farmhouse. He lost his health
worrying about the mortgage and Dorothy's disappearance, traveled to
Australia to recuperate, took Dorothy with him and thought she had
drowned in a storm at sea, and was generally knocked about before that
though.

Overall, in the books he gets more airtime than Auntie Em.

An Honorable Mention to a mystery that had already been around for
decades before it was a key subplot in the movie "Tora Tora Tora": Did
President Franklin Roosevelt know about the Pearl Harbor attack in advance?

Is there any reason to believe it is anyone other than Woody Allen

Is ther any reason to believe he is a figment?

I asked some of these same questions to Mamet at a showing at the Toronto
Film Festival. He replied that the film was meant to ask questions, rather
than give answers. What a crock!
