(Becuase of the group-target limit I am pasting and sending this to
various related newsgroups, if anything it'll get it outta my systme
even if this flick is made and god---HITS!)

Where oh where, has our Underdog gone? Well, not to Disney that's for
sure, it's a whole new, dog, who is one step away from being a
nontalking pooch and only a regular dog as Underdog would be the
worst.

For the sake of the good patron saints and majordomos at Total
Teleivison Productions and Leonardo Productions, as well as TV Spots
vis-a-vis Creston Studios and Gamma Productions, living and dead,
including the soundtrack folks, this movie with Jason Lee must be
stopped.

I saw a billboard for this down in LA last week. Big, huge billboard.

I thought I was seeing things until I looked again.

Apparently, yes, this is being made. No, it's not animated. No, not even
Underdog is animated (ala the Garfield movies). Yes, that's right. We've
got a live action dog. With a cape. Called Underdog.

God, a piece of my childhood just shrivled up and died right there.

What's worse is, something tells me there are already plans for
Underdog 2. (Hands up, those of you who thought that the first
"George of the Jungle" movie would have put an end to any thoughts of
a sequel...)

Let alone a sequel wherein the main character has asides with the
audience to explain why he isn't played by the same actor, etc...

The original dog wouldn't do it though, so they're having to cast a look
a like for the sequel. :)

Sure, why not. First, remind the audience of what the show used to be.
That way when the actual film is revealed, its soul crushing power will be
even more effective.

After all, if you'd hadn't heard of Underdog before, you'd just think this
was a bad Hollywood movie. But, having been educated (even briefly), you
can enjoy the true horror that this isn't just a bad movie...it's a
horrific remake/re-imagining of something that used to be considered
enjoyable...

*sigh*

As a special treat, I would be allowed to eat lunch at my little table and
chair set in the living room while watching Underdog on TV when I was 4
years old. Can't go back again :(

I remember an ad campaign where they said Quisp was preferred over
Quake (IMO, it was, mainly because Quake was so hard it bordered on
stale), and there was a nationwide mail-in vote to decide whether or
not they should still make Quake. The vote was "Yes", but soon after,
they replaced Quake with something called Orange Quangaroos, which I
assume was the plan all along (and they put the spin on it to make it
look like it was a "reward" to Quake fans for voting to keep Quake).

Pretty much all the Quaker sugary cereals were one Cap'n Crunch formula
in nominally different forms--
Quisp was light and flake-shaped, while Quake I remember being shaped
like bolt nuts.

The "Orange" was orange-flavored, IIRC, and you'll notice no one has
ever made such a foul concoction since. >_<
