Sorry about the blank message.

As for your question, I've never had to deal with crippling despair and
depression and I doubt any movie can beat a well-prescribed drug, but for
the general blues I'm always uplifted tremendously by _Enchanted April_
(1992): Josie Lawrence, Miranda Richardson, Joan Plowright, and Polly Walker
escape rainy London with its attendant unsatisfactory husbands and lives and
rent a villa in Italy. The film glows with contentment, happiness, and
acceptance.

to normal affect within the hour.

Several Marx Bros. films have helped pull me out of tough times. I'd also
recommend Cary Grant's, The Bishop's Wife.

Anything by Robert Clampett or Tex Avery.

A brand new holiday film called "Noel" would be my first choice.
It's not what you would expect from a holiday film, but it is filled
with surprises from beginning to end. Susan Sarrandun (sp?)is the lead
character, but Robin Williams and Phenilopie (sp?) Cruise are both in
it too. Also Alan Arkin.
I've read that it was made in 2004 to be used to test market a
disposible DVD that self-destructs 48 hours after opening. Now there's
something to be proud of. 8^).

We saw it on TNT cable, but I doubt if they will show it again. Thanks
to my DVD recorder, I've got about three commercial free copies
floating around for friends to watch. It really was a fun film to
watch.

I would avoid Bergman. Ingmar not Ingrid.

Funny, this is one of those films that I love on a big screen in a nice
print, but put it on video and it loses almost all of its appeal for me.
Funny about that.

Guess I won't be seeing it for a while...
