I'm talking about clinical depression, which is what I took the OP to be
describing and which is a lot more serious than you appear to be aware of.

I'm told the book to read on depression is Learned Optimism by Martin
Seligman.

Anyway, Astaire/Rodgers flicks are pretty much irresistible.
