Reortedly Ford's favorite picture, a good piece of work. Why isn't that on
DVD, anyway? It's even hard to get on VHS....More like a Hitchcock in some
ways, I thought--more of a creepy thriller plot line than what you'd expect
from Ford.

I think he may have enjoyed the shoot. A bunch of old friends on set,
and no stars.

Like I said, no stars. "Randy Rides Alone" may not be half the picture,
but you can plaster John Wayne on the cover.

The Cleggs appeared before as the Clantons in "My Darling Clementine"
and again in "Two Rode Together" (same name!). Just in case people
think Sam Peckinpah invented cretinous Western inbreds in "Ride the
High Country"

I'll assume it's a decent to very good transfer, laserdisc having that
rep. So one's out there, and all they really need to do is copy it to
DVD, unless . . . no, too late for even a 55th anniversary release.
I'd think that a cover with Ben Johnson and Ward Bond on it would draw
the male demo like a "Free Beer" sign, but what do I know?

A picture of a young Ben Johnson would draw THIS female demo, I can
tell you that. ;)

I have the laser disc but would be happy to replace with a new and
spiffy DVD. :)
