why would Tim Burton want to start another project when he left us all
hangin now for a few years with Planet of Apes....isnt there a sequel to
that or did he just throw his hands up on it ? im not sure.

i would like to see the sequel to that before looking at a dark film about
chocalate sweets and little orange midgets.

I think PotA, while it opened huge, is a lot like Tomb Raider or Charlie's
Angels in that, while it may have made some money, nobody really wants a
continuation of the story.

Also, I think it would be a really bad idea to remake Willy Wonka. Generally
speaking, remaking any film is a bad idea, particularly a beloved cult film.
PotA showed us that a remake isn't the best use of Burton's talents. I'm
really psyched about Big Fish, and I'm hoping for a wholly original project
after it.

Tim Burton isn't remaking a beloved cult film, he is doing an
adaptation of a beloved cult book that has been adapted to film
before. That other adaptation became a beloved cult film in itself,
but was much less closer in spirit to the original book than Burton
has the potential to be. Just thought I'd clarify. As I will
continue to do so for anyone I encounter who regards the '70's movie
as the real thing. I have a lot of work on my hands, but I'm taking
every small step I can.
