After discovering this film at Netflix, I was able to view it today.
Starring Henry Fonda and Vera Miles, it's the story of an innocent
man accused of robbery and what effect this has on his family. Unlike
most Hitchcock films, this story is true, and Hitch felt obliged to tell
the whole truth.
Vera Miles plays a grief stricken wife pushed over the edge as she
and her husband try in vain to prove his innocence. Apparently what
happens in the film actually happened.
Instead of a cameo, Hitchcock begins the film just as he would a
trailer for the film.
It's in B & W (highly effective in this story) and 16X9 widescreen.
Any more information could spoil the story.

Have you seen this?

Rich

Hey Rich. Yet another under-rated Hitch film. In fact, I was just reading my
father's "1001 films to see before you die" (or whatever the exact title)
and The Wrong Man is listed in there to the exclusion of some other Hitch
films (like Saboteur, Lady Vanishes, Trouble with Harry - Now I'm thinking
Dial M might not have been there, but I could have missed it.

I think Henry Fonda did an excellent job. This film is very, very scary to
me, because it is so real. It's interesting to me, because I've always sort
of thought of it as a long AHP episode!

Best,
Steve
