Hi All,

I know I have asked a few questions about the Zaxcom camera link stuff
- and here's another one!

I worked with a another soundo yesterday (two soundo's on a set -
scary!). He had the Zaxcom stereo link setup, and he had what he
described as a filtered antenna for the transmitter. (He also had lots
of other sexy toys - I was like a kid in a toy store!)

I was wondering what it was, how useful it was, if there was an
alternative etc.

Thanks all,

James Nowiczewski

decries rf pollution in your bag ,
very useful if you have receivers in close blocks my is on 24 while the
recovers on 25 and 26
the antenna has to match the transmitter block

I've got the Zaxcom ENG link system, and I think the filter antenna is
a must if you have non Zaxcom receivers in your bag. I had Lectro
201's in block 22, 25 and 27, and my block 21 Zaxcom transmitter showed
up across the entire block on all three while scanning. Once I
attached the filter the RF level from Zaxcom disappeared on the
Lectro's.

Frankly I'd recommend having at least two blocks between a Zaxcom link
and any receiver even with the filter. When I upgraded to 411's
recently I dropped block 22 out of concern the Zaxcom could still get
into it.

BTW, I've had the Zaxcom link for 8 months, and it has been rock solid.
Not one problem. First time I've every felt really confident in my
camera-audio bag link.

Regards,

Fred Schuh

Who was that James, David Lynne?
He does have a filtered antenna setup, he had to because of the RF probs he
was having in the begining, and don't forget, he is doing "Border Security"
with a ton of RF at the airport.
That's why he got the Zaxcoms in the first place == they required 2 channels
to be sent to the camera.
