Arrogantly twisting the sterile canvas snoot of a fully charged icing
utensil, I hereby poot forth the following declarations:

This forum is so quiet, and yet it's hard to believe that everything
that can be said about the Matrix has already been said. Surely this
epic hasn't just come and gone, like some popular fad that soon fades
into obscurity, to be remembered only in glossy coffee table books.

Today I watched some my favorite scenes, such as the Agent jumping on
the car hood; Neo's fist punching through the raindrops; all scenes
with Sati, and, most exceptional, the crows flapping around Smith
in the stone courtyard.

So then I come to the final act of _Revolutions_ with Ms. Oracle
sitting on the park bench, and it's hard to believe that this
interesting story world is abruptly over and I have to get dumped
back into my "real" life, like waking up from a dream. Of course,
whatever has a beginning has an end... but surely we haven't come
to the end of the Matrix world.

It's alt.movies.matrix that is unpopular, rather than the subject of the
Matrix being exhausted. There are masses of forum postings across the
web daily. For some reason no-one uses this newsgroup. Perhaps Usenet in
general is in decline.

It's far from over. The latest in-game bulletin is this:

**
Peace is never certain, though death is.

Or is it?

Missing and presumed dead, the One nevertheless remains a symbol of
peace for those who would believe. Led by Morpheus, these true believers
are ridiculed for their fervent search for the Neo's remains.

While the Merovingian mocks Morpheus' search, his lieutenants seem
strangely intent on shadowing his every move; and despite the common
belief that the Machine's retain the One's body, automated trace
programs devote unusual attention to every iteration of Neo's name.
Rumors spread of inexplicable emanations within the Matrix: granting
vast power to those who can find and control them.

Within the Matrix, where there is power, there is strife. Only one
Organization will rise triumphant: Will it be the Machines with their
surgical precision and dogmatic commitment to the preservation of
balance? The Zionites with their devout duty to protect Zion at all
costs? Or the Exiles with their calculated cunning and masterful
manipulations?

Not by a long way, I'd imagine.

People are still bitter that the Wachowskis told a story too intelligent for
them to handle, so it's going to be a while before society catches up and
realizes the true value of The Matrix saga.

In the mean time, there are those of us who celebrate it as one of the
greatest fresh film/story ideas to come along in a very long time, and
you'll be able to find us here (at least occasionally) for some time to
come.
