The record autostart on the 744T is initiated by timecode starting to
increment from the camera when it starts to record (when the camera is not
recording the timecode is static) when in Record Run mode but it sounds like
that's not your setup as timecode is going to the camera from a lockit
(freerun) and not from the camera to the 744T.
Dropouts in an RF link for the timecode from camera to 744T are ignored if
in the 744T AutoRecord continuous mode because the 744T has some
'intelligence' and only stops when it receives static timecode and ignores
any dropouts.
