Hitchcock told Truffaut that in 'North By Northwest', he had wanted a
scene to take place where a car was put together on an assembly line ..
and we watched all this in the background (as more important stuff took
place in the foreground, I suppose). When the car was complete, someone
was to have opened a door and a body was to have fallen out.

Anyway, the thing is, Hitchcock seems to have been really keen on this
idea but himself and Ernest Lehman never got around to completely
figuring out how to incorporate it into the script and it was
eventually shelved.

Funnily enough, Steven Spielberg included something very similar in his
'Minority Report' recently .. where we see Tom Cruise, after a fight
with Colin Farrell, landing on a chassis on an assembly line and a car
is built to completion around him .. and I think he ends up driving off
to safety in it.
