well, Sigourney Weaver was questioned about the Alien movies in the
interview for the latest Total Film, and she had nothing new or
interesting to say by my understanding and probably the interviewer was
asking questions that would reveal nothing new anyway. That was fun.

A bit like this newsgroup, eh?

It's all old news now and unless Alien 5 does evolve and with impact,
storyline-wise, then the old news will just become a legend in the
mists of time and people will stop asking Sigourney, or anyone related
to the Alien series, anything about anything.

And all we will have is our myriad of Alien books, Giger posters,
magazines, DVD's, VHS', the odd documentary, etc, to remind ourselves
that there was a film or two that could blow ya socks off!

Thank goodness for memorabilia!!

I think, quite honestly someone ought to stick a lavatory cleaning mop
in her face.

Actually, I think now the problems really lie within the interviewers
who have a chance to ask important or interesting questions and they
don't. I don't know how Sigourney would get on with an interesting and
new question, it might send a wide crack right down the centre of her
face. The interviewers probably have no real interest in the Alien
series in any depths and so see it just as something to briefly cover.
There are probably thousands of questions about various facts and
details that might easily be answered by her. I'm still wondering about
what she wrote in those notebooks of hers during the movies.

Now listen here, Dom!! :P Regardless of insipid interviews, with
insipid interviewers, Sigourney Weaver is an amazing actress - dont
lose sight of that. She is iconic as far as the Alien series goes.
Okay, I never forgave her on that tripe AR(se), but enjoyed watching
her squirm when being interviewed on the film - she knew it was shite
in comparison to the other Alien films, but soon recovered when given
more preparation in a later documentary but, at the end of the day, her
acting outweighs any insipid responses to interviews. I dont think
there is one film that I have watched her in that doesnt impress me -
her diversity is wonderful. Two films, "Copycat" and "Death and the
Maiden" spring to mind most often.

But, as Ripley, freaking brilliant!

well, it might give a clue as to whether the possibility was discussed
or even half discussed. There were probably many things discussed on
the set to wonder about they're all hidden away in diaries and
notebooks today, or at least in the back of the directors' minds and no
one asks the right questions to find out about all these possibilities.

I'm personally very impressed by her as an actress, but what would you
say if I claimed thaty I spoke to her agent and he said that she'll
only talk in detail about the Alien movies if someone sticks a lavatory
cleaning mop in her face before the interview because as it goes, she
enjoys that very much and this sets her off into Alien questions
answering mode.

Very likely the Interviewers are clueless; They're paid to be entertaining, not intelligent.
But also you've gotta wonder if Weaver isn't setting pre-conditions for the interview.
Nobody likes to get caught without a ready answer and this is about generating money
and publicity, not enlightenment. I also admit to the skeptical idea that maybe Weaver
is like soooo many other Hollywood-types who make it big in one type of vehicle and
then spend the rest of their careers avoiding all mention of same. Sean Connery and
"James Bond", Harrison Ford and "Star Wars", Pee We Herman and Porno theatres
(HHOK on that last one).

I dont think that is with Sigourney - Alien surpasses many sci-fi
movies and Ripley is her's so it wouldnt sit well being in another
sci-fi monster movie. And the reason she picks films with such a
diversity is simply because she can act in any role. Sean Connery has
worked on films that are not connected in either way either - James
Bond he is, but again has worked with comedy, humanistic and fantasy.
Harrison Ford has also worked in diverse roles - but always sounds the
same to me, regardless of the role. And altho he is remembered for
Star Wars to many, for me he is god as far as the Raiders series goes!
("start the engine!") :)))

What's a porno theatre?? <blink, blink>
