Hi,

I read that the cantar can not be plugged into an Apple desktop CPU
because 30V busvoltage will fry the interface. Is this true for a
certain range of serial numbers or is this the case even on new
cantars?

Is there a list what other devices will fry the cantar like FW hubs
etc.?

Thanks,

Frank.

To clarify:

I don´t own a cantar (otherwise I wouldn´t be asking these stupid
questions I guess ;-) )

I´m facing a post production where I might have to rent one and I
wanted to know If I can do anything wrong with it. I now know that
it´s actually not necessary to plug the cantar into a CPU anyway. I
wasn´t sure about that.

I got the info off-list.

best,

frank.

I might have to rent one for fx gathering to stay within the workflow
the production has been using during the shoot. But I am not sure yet
about the setup.
I have to record music in Africa for a feature but I need to do
overdubs so any production sound machine won´t do the job because none
of them can playback and record at the same time.

I think I´ll just take a laptop Logic Audio and a motu traveler.

thanks anyway,

frank.

AKAIK that feature has been advertised but isn´t actually working. Can
you confirm this?

Thanks,

Frank.

This feature is not yet implemented in Deva IV and V.
AFAIK, same for Cantar.
