What 3 Matrix characters (from the 3 films and 9 animated shorts)
would you most want to be in the Matrix world, or our real one (if you
could be one of them) and please state why, for each of your 3
choices.

1) and 2) (glib answers)

1) Choi. He looks like he's having one hell of a good time, albeit in an
artificial and simulated way.

2) Mifune. Because I would love to have the opportunity to spit out the
words "Pod-born pencil-neck" just *once* in my life.

3) (serious answer)

The blind man sitting around outside the Oracle's apartment in M1.

Okay, although that sounds glib too, I've been thinking about what role
I would most like to play in the upcoming MxO, and I decided that I
don't really want to fight for either side. That is, I don't really want
to fight at all. I don't want to be a Zionist rebel or in the thrall of
the Merovingian. What I'd most like to be is a guy that sits, Charles
Bukowski-like, in his room somewhere in, say, the Lamar neighbourhood
and just look on, maybe making notes. I'd like to follow the story-line
and be involved only as an impartial observer. Kind of like the Watcher
in old Fantastic Four comics. The only person that I can think of right
now that may be like that in the trilogy is the Blind Man...

....except he's blind.

.... (maybe) ...

Yes indeed, that's why I added (maybe). Note also that Neo seems to
notice the exchange, and then seems to touch his own eyes briefly as he
enters the elevator. It's fanciful, but I like the idea that it
foreshadows later events.

The Merovingian.

Because he gets to be married to Monica Bellucci.

I would like to be an agent along with Agent Smith.
My name would be Agent X, that might end up being a good agent working
undercover for the good guys.

X

Mouse. He seems to have a lot of fun with what he does, and I could dig
being a vital member of the team plus having fun on the side.

The Merovingian. He has all the coolest toys in his closet and tricks up his
sleeve. And he makes a mean orgasmo-cake. And, gee, you think he's living in
style?

The Architect. Man, what a cushy job!
