It MAY be Neil Gaiman. He's one of the few people I know has started but
ended a collaboration with Lynch before it was finished.
I think Gaiman later used some of the ideas they came up with for his own
project.
I may be all wrong here but since no one else has answered you I thought I'd
mention this anyway.
