lynch collaboration: script ends with pan-out showing room..

i'm trying to locate this interview i read with somebody. when asked
why he never worked with david lynch, he said he tried to. they wrote
a script, but when lynch insisted they end the movie by panning out of
the room the protagonist was in and expose that it was standing by
itself on the surface of the moon he realized he couldn't make it
work. ANY IDEAS? i read it 1-2 years ago online.

It MAY be Neil Gaiman. He's one of the few people I know has started but
ended a collaboration with Lynch before it was finished.

I think Gaiman later used some of the ideas they came up with for his own
project.

I may be all wrong here but since no one else has answered you I thought I'd
mention this anyway.
