Look under consignment items "full sound package" This would be the
extreme limit (for now) of buying what you needed.
A one time expensive purchase but it would get you up and running
quickly. Knowing how to run it all is a different story.
You can never have to much gear for this type of work but that said you
sure can end up with a lot that doesnt get used very often.
A top five of gear priority purchases is a good idea.
1. Mixer (channels depending on need 4-10)
2. excellent shotgun mic ($1000-1500)
3. Boom pole as long as you think youll need (feature's 12'-16'-20+,
eng 9'-12')
4. recorder (Tascam HDp2? $1000- cantar $14000 Sound Devices 2-4K)
5. Wireless mics 2-8 of these, good ones several thousand $$
cables, cart, bag, pelican cases, adapters, powers supplies, mic
suspensions, windscreens, antennas, stands, lav mics, clips, mics, more
mics,
And now adays a computer also is not a bad thing to have and in some of
our cases an essential tool. Run metacorder need a mac, digitla file
transfers, burning, copying.
There are hundreds of essential items that go unmentioned in order to
make a shot sound good.
Just a start but hope it helps.
