Then I guess I'll have to see Kentucky Fried Movie again (and it was U of

I think that's about what it was, yeah. Offbeat maverick filmmaking trying
to put a myriad of ideas into one movie, which made it uneven and
disjointed, but still interesting and fun.

My top five picks:

Rik Mayall (Britcoms BOTTOM, THE YOUNG ONES, etc.)
Chris Barrie (Britcom THE BRITTAS EMPIRE)
Zach Braff (SCRUBS)
Nicole Sullivan (formerly on MAD-TV, more recently free-lancing)
Phil Hendrie (off-beat radio personality)

He did make a film, all his own, called Garden State. Not bad.

I guess I'm not getting out enough. I'm not familiar with >any< of

You mean you're not staying in enough...these are all TV players. Chris Barrie
was great as Rimmer on RED DWARF.

Atkinson's bits as Mr. Bean on TV are amusing but the features I saw (the
Mr. Bean one and Johnny English) were terrible

Spade, Farley, Sandler, et. al., are ok at a Three Stooges level of
boorishness (I would certainly contend the longevity of the Stooges will not
likely be matched by these latter day pretenders). And I do like the quirky
comedy of today like Royal Tenenbaums, et. al. But I will most certainly
agree that we do not have the caliber of Chaplin and Keaton in our current
cinema.
