So I let you decide for me..
I just got into the fantastic surreal world of David Lynch, and I'm going to
order a new movie in the next couple of days.
I've skinned down the choices to Blue Velvet and Short Movies.
Haven't seen any of them yet.
Which one do you think I should prior first?
Blue Velvet is one of his biggest classics?
On the other hand I loved Eraserhead, so I kind of expect something similar
with Short Movies.. The thing with Short Movies is thats its so expensive.
Anyway, what should I go with?
Cheers,

Blue Velvet. If in doubt, always go with BV.

Depends on your taste. If you liked the... paintly structure of Eraserhead,
then go with the short films; however, if you want a murder mystery, or what
Dennis Hopper calls "American Surrealism", pick up Blue Velvet (but make
sure to pick up the special edition, as compared to the bare-bones first
dvd.

Definitely Blue Velvet! (buy the R1 Special Edition)
The Short Films are little more than just simple film excercises and they're
not up to the standard of Eraserhead. Of course they're surreal and
Lynchian, but the DVD is perhaps better to see after you've seen his other
work, and then seeing how the mind developed there...
