Hello I'm curious if any one here has any suggestion for ways in which
to increase your knowledge or origniality of horror writing ?

Usually I just try to explore my own real life fears, or events I am
familiar with but I am interested in how I could perhaps interplay
words or use certain approches , techniques to create landscapes that
are more abstract in nature.

Examples of this would include Lewis Carrol , Edward Gorey..

If any one has any ideas of sources I'd be interested to hear them .

thanks

You may want to try eBay or your local bookstore and see if you can
track down a copy of Stephen King's book "On Writing", where he tells
about how various incidents/events in his life influenced his work, as
well as delving into the technical aspects of what one needs to learn as
an aspiring writer.

And here's a little tip I learned fro a creative writing class I took
long ago, just get into the habit of jotting down any thoughts or ideas
that may come to you in the course of a day, such as how you felt
looking out the window as night fell or what the streets in your
neighborhood looked like on a snowy day. These little snippets can
often blossom into something more substantial...

Same here, I guess though I like some of the movies based on his
stories. I find Dean Koontz a more appealing alternative horror writer
whose writings are usually very good.
