A vs. P

I just saw it today and, after reading all the horrible reviews, I
surprised myself by liking the movie.
I thought it kept a pretty good pace, better than I was expecting.
I'm not a Dark Horse comic reader so my knowledge of the Predator vs.
Alien rules of conduct and protocols are severely lacking. I don't
seem to have had the expectations a lot of fans did.
But I've seen the Alien movies and the Predator movies as well, and A
vs. P seemed to follow the rules and logic of those worlds.
I thought the special effects were terrific.
The fight scenes could've been edited in places so that we could
actually SEE some fighting. There were a few moments when all I saw
was a bunch of lethal black and silver flashes careening across the
1000 foot screen (I saw it at Graumman's Chinese) so fast that I
couldn't make out any SHAPES. My optic apparatus doesn't sample visual
data that quickly.
