....if anyone can help. I've been shooting in a variety of Super 8 stocks in
the last year. My plan now is to make a narrative short. My main concern is
having the right equipment with me (I intend to edit by transferring to dv
and whacking into final cut pro).
1) Sound. I was thinking of using DAT or Mini disc on a boom mic and
then--sixty four thousand dollar question--synching it up in FCP. I know
that you can 'pull' soundtracks back and forth in FCP. Any thoughts?
2) I want to shoot in colour and black and white. In terms of black and
white I was thinking of Kodak Plus X for exteriors and Tri X for indoors.
Any thoughts about lighting. Is there, for example, any lamps that are worth
having with you or reflector boards? I want a few colour shots and wonder
what people here think is the best colour film to use. I like the saturation
of Kodak 40 but it's very temperemental.
3) Once the film is edited and on a DVD will it project 'big' all right?
Cheers
Pert Surly.
